Have you seen this sticker on a vehicle
in Odom’s Mill, if so it was parked illegally?
Beginning next month, vehicles found
illegally parked will receive this sticker as a reminder
that a violation of the Odom’s Mill Covenants and
Restrictions, Section 3.8(a), has occurred. Enforcement
of this violation per Florida Statutes, Section 720.305,
will be indicated on the back of the sticker.
Welcome to the August, 2009 edition
of The Millpost, a community newsletter for Odom’s Mill
residents. Please pay particular attention to parking
issue noted above; it is for everyone’s safety and well
being
Covenants and Restrictions
Odom’s Mill is a Restrictive Deeded Community and as
such, property owners and residents are governed by the
Recorded Covenants and Restrictions of the community.
These documents should have been provided by the seller
at the real estate closing for your property and in fact
Florida Statutes, Section 720.401, require a disclosure
noting that these documents do exist. If you do not have
a copy, they are available on our community website,
www.odomsmill.org.
Odom’s Mill Classifieds
If you have items to sell or buy and you would be
interested in placing an ad on our website, please send
us the information to
webmaster@odomsmill.org
and we will create a section for classifieds. We just
ask that you keep the information legitimate and timely.
Construction Debris
Did you know that our regular garbage service on
Wednesdays or yard trash service on Mondays does not
include the pickup of construction debris? In order to
have it removed, you will have to make special
arrangements with an independent debris removal service.
If the quantity is not too bulky, you can try bagging
the debris as regular garbage.
Community Meet and Greet Pizza Party
Mark your calendar for Thursday, September 17th
at 7:00pm for an Odom’s Mill Pizza Party at the
community pool. The Board will provide the free pizza if
you will bring your refreshments of choice. The purpose,
other than purely social, is to recruit volunteers to
staff the various committees needed to run our
association. We would also welcome you involvement in
the formation of community blocks, captained by local
property owners for the purpose of disseminating
important community information. We believe that the
most important tool for the prevention of crime in our
neighborhood is an active Neighborhood Watch, which
starts with an active block captain. We do appreciate
you help in these endeavors.
Security Alert
Crime of all types is on the rise and the St. Johns
County Sheriff’s Office recommends that you stay alert,
lock your car, garage your car and keep garage doors
closed and locked. If trouble is noted, contact Deputy
Diana Bryant (810-6694) or email
dibryant@sjso.org.
Association Fees
Please remember that the semiannual assessments were
due in July. These funds are needed to ensure the
continued operation of our association and to provide
enhancements to community property.
Comments are Welcome

above, or perhaps you would like to share thoughts
