The Odom’s Mill Community Association annual elections (this is the second effort at getting a quorum) are coming up January 7, 2010, please turn in your signed proxy or attend the meeting. There is also one vacant seat on the Board to be filled at the annual meeting. Call Kimberly Hamm at May Management for information. Volunteers are also needed for committee vacancies as all committees are being reconstituted. A copy of the proxy is attached.

Report any suspicious activity to the St. Johns County Sheriff office at 824-8304. Lock all vehicles and keep your garage door closed if unattended.

A special thank you from the Board to Larry and Teryn Romaine for the countless hours they spend picking up trash in our neighborhood. Teryn is the lady you see in a kayak collecting trash along the shore of our primary lake. The couple then spend one afternoon a month collecting trash along our streets. Their biggest complaint is the dog owners that do not pick up their own dog’s waste, or if they do they throw it in our storm gutters and drains. Please pick up after your pet!

Items of interest:

· A REMINDER that our lake is being treated regularly for toxic algae bloom, however we can help by limiting the runoff of lawn fertilizers and grass clippings into our storm system and street gutters. The strict use of time-release fertilizer is also essential to controlling the algae and preventing an unsightly lake. The Board is investigating having our lake cleaned in order to get ahead of this issue.

· The Board is looking into installing pet waste stands as a way of getting the message out that pet waste on our property is prohibited. Please pick up after your pet, no matter where you are.

· A special thanks to the residents that attend and offer comments at the monthly Board meetings. All residents are encouraged to attend. Better yet, get in involved in one of the various committees that provide the Board with guidance and solutions.
